Most iPhone users will know how annoying it can be when you’re playing music and go to record a video only for the audio to stop abruptly.
Well now thankfully TikTok user @erik_tollefsrud has revealed how you can bypass the problem.
Erik Tollefsrud regularly shares Apple tips and tricks that users might not know about on his account, including how to use your Apple Watch to locate a lost iPhone and how to close Safari tabs quickly – but his camera trick is what everyone is talking about.
In the clip, which has been viewed more than 2 million times, Erik demonstrated how to continue playing music whilst recording – and viewers have called it a “game-changer.”
He does this by opening the camera app and selecting the photo mode.
Then he goes to music and begins playing a song before he flips back to the camera.
Once there, he says users will need to quickly click and hold down on the shutter button, as you normally would to take a picture, but instead of letting go, slide your finger to the right, as shown in the video above.
However, the trick will only work on the iPhone 11 and newer Erik later revealed in the comments.
Since being posted, the video has received 438,000 likes and 5,100 comments from impressed viewers as one said: “This is the most helpful thing I’ve ever seen.”
Another admitted: “Snapchat always had my back for this.”
“You just CHANGED MY LIFE,” said a third.
And: “Years of ‘iPhone tips’ from different content creators…. and you are the first one to actually teach me something I wasn’t aware of. Thank you!” commented a fourth.
However, a few people were disappointed that it didn’t work on their iPhone as one user revealed: “8+ here and I can’t do it.”
Another said: “Didn’t work on my iPhone X. It wouldn’t slide over just took a thousand pics,” to which Erik replied: “Yea it only works on iPhone 11 and newer.”
